KEERAI MASIYAL/KEERAI KADAISAL- Very healthy recipe.One of my favorites.With a spicy vegetable combo like Potato curry this will be out of the world.
This is my mother's recipe.I like the unique touch of coriander flavor that is in my mother's recipe.I feel a completion in the taste with the added coriander seeds.We feel some chunks of coriander while eating.I have done this recipe using baby spinach.Here is the recipe.
1.Wash and Clean the spinach.Remove thick stems.
2.Heat 2 tsp of oil in a kadai.Fry coriander seeds.When you feel the aroma of coriander add slit green chillies and slit garlic.Saute well.
3.To this add the spinach.Saute till the spinach shrinks.(If you have paruppu mathu you can use it to smash the spinach and you need not grind it using a mixer)
4.Transfer to a mixer.Add required salt and make a lightly coarse masiyal.Transfer it to a bowl.
5.Heat oil.Temper mustard seeds and red chilli.Add the tempered items to the masiyal
