PEANUT CHUTNEY

PEANUT CHUTNEY RECIPE- This is the recipe of peanut chutney that we do at our home without coconut or onion.Very quick recipe to post and to prepare as well.

Kadalai Chutney

Best combination with Hot Idlis,Paniyarams and Hot Rice.My mother prepares this as a side dish for Raghi Kali as followed in villages. With little ground nut/peanut we can make a very rich and creamy chutney. No oil,No tempering is needed for this recipe.

Ingredients
Peanuts
1/4 Cup
Garlic
3 Cloves
Red Chillies
2 Medium Sized
Tamarind
A little
Cumin Seeds
1/4 tsp
Salt
To Taste

Method:
1.Dry roast peanuts in low flame such that black spots appear on the skin.Do not overdo. This is the important step for the taste.
2.Allow it to cool.Scrape the peanuts and remove the husk completely.
3.Take peanuts in a mixer along with cumin seeds, garlic, red chilli, tamarind and salt.First grind to a coarse powder. Then grind it into very smooth paste using water.
4.Taste with hot and soft Idlis.
5.Cook 'n' Enjoy

Tip:
1.Tempering is not required for this chutney.
2.If you prefer you can fry garlic red chillies and cumin seeds with little oil and then grind. We don't do this anyway.
3.Adjust redchillies and tamarind as per your taste preferance.
4.Over roasting peanut brings bitter taste to the chutney. And not roasting properly spoils the taste.
