KAMBU KOLUKATTAI / கம்பு கொழுக்கட்டை

KAMBU KOZHUKATTAI: A healthy snack steamed with very less oil.




Kambu Kozhukattai




Ingredients
Kambu
1/ 2 Cup
Onion
1
Ginger finely chopped
1-2 tsp
Red Chilly Broken finely
3
Coconut Gratings
3 tbl spn
Channa Dal/Urad dal
1/2 tsp each
Asafoetida
A Pinch
Coriander Leaves/Curry Leaves
A handful
Oil
3 Tbl spn
Salt
To Taste



Method:

1. Wash and soak kambu for minimum 5 hours.
2.After five hours drain it and grind into coarse paste adding around 3/4 cup water with salt.
3. In a pan heat oil. Temper all items listed.
4. Add Ground  Kambu  and mix well such that it gets coated well in oil 
5.In medium heat, continue stirring till it comes together to a lump. Turn off and remove from heat
6. Once it’s warm to touch make balls and steam it for around 10 mins.
7. Tasted great when it’s served completely cooled / warm.
