PORITHA KOZHI / CRISPY CHICKEN LEGS

Crispy chicken legs - This recipe is almost everyone's favourite. We used to fry the whole chicken leg in oil after marinating with the masal. It will take a lot of time to cook. I learnt another easy method from my sister.

SELAVU RASAM

Selavau rasam is authentic recipe prepared as a home medicine for cold. As told in my previous rasam post, the taste differs from one rasam to other though the ingredients are same. This rasam is prepared without tamarind as we generally do not add tamarind for fever and cold. I learnt this version of selavu rasam from my sister and aunty.

MILAGU SEVAI / PEPPER SEVAI

My mother prepares pepper rice when we have severe cold. This is a modified version of pepper rice.
We add more garlic and freshly ground pepper to this recipe.

CHUKKATTI KEERAI PORIYAL / BLACK NIGHT SHADE PORIYAL

Manthakkali Keerai has lots and lots of medicinal value. Tastes good with Uppu Paruppu (Dal) and rasam.

PULI RASAM / TAMARIND RASAM

Puli Rasam- Though everyone uses the same ingredients, I wonder how tastes differ from one rasam to the other. Here is a simple rasam recipe.

MEEN VARUVAL / FISH FRY

Meen Varuval - When you say this, I will get immediately tempted to eat. I love Meen Varuval a lot. This weekend we did this fry and I was the one who ate more compared with others. :)We did not get any ready masala mix from the shop.100 % home made masala and so no worries on health consequences.

ARISI PARUPPU SADHAM

Arisi Paruppu Sadham or Paruppu Sadham - a typical traditional Kongunadu recipe. You can  prepare this divine food in no time. When you are hungry and tired after travel, preparing this tasty recipe would be quite easy. Even while you cook, you will get tempted to taste the recipe for sure.

SOYA CHUNKS CURRY

One more side dish for Chapathi. You can cook this recipe quickly provided you have Coconut , Soya Chunks and Green Chilli. This curry will be white in colour. Tastes yummy

CHOW CHOW KOOTU / CHAYOTE CURRY

Daily I plan two chapathis with little rice for lunch and I'm in search of side dishes for it. Kootu can be a healthy combination for Chapathi. Different Kootu with different veggies is also a supplement for rice.

MALLI SADAM / CORIANDER RICE

A tasty recipe. Easy to prepare. Good to pack for lunch. I have added very less spices and chilli. Depending upon your taste the spices can be added. This goes well with any raita , Potato/ Chicken curry. We rarely use basmati rice in our home. We use Seeraga samba or Biryani Rice. The rice itself has an aroma that brings enhanced taste to the recipe.

SPICY CHICKEN FRY/KOZHI VARUVAL

The chicken fry is my aunt’s recipe and is one of my favorites. It tastes too good. Very less garam masala and the recipe is done mostly with chilli powder. Coconut slices being added finally brings unique taste to this fry.

KARA PANIYARAM
