FALAFEL

FALAFEL RECIPE- A very popular Middle East street food. But all the ingredients used in this recipe are in Indian kitchen This is a very good snack and can be a good starter too.Looks and tastes like Mutton Kola.

First I found this recipe here. Then googled and learnt about it.

As said in the above site, it is like our masala vada. But we use chick peas instead of gram dhal.In vada we use chopped veggies. But in this recipe every veggie is ground. So it may taste like Mutton Kola.Crunchy outside and soft inside.Saving this recipe.

Ingredients
Chick Peas
1 Cup
Green Chillies
4
Garlic
3 Flakes
Onion
1/2
Ginger
2 inch
Mint Leaves
5 or 6
Coriander Leaves
Few Strands
Pepper
1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds
1/2 tsp
Garam Masala
1/2 tsp
Salt
To Taste
Oil
To Fry

Method:

1.Soak Chick Peas Overnight.Drain water completely
2.First grind all ingredients except Chick Peas,Salt and Oil and then add Chick Peas batch by batch.
3.The mixture should be coarse. Not smooth.Do NOT add any water.
4.Before frying add enough salt and mix well.Make small rounds.
5.In a frying pan heat oil. When oil is hot enough drop the balls
6.Reduce the heat and fry the balls until it turns crispy outside. Frying in high flame may brown the balls outside.Inside it will not get cooked.
7.Serve hot.
8.Cook 'n' Enjoy

Tip:
1.Do not add any water.Or the fritters may absorb more oil.
2.Oil should be hot while dropping the balls such that the balls should raise immediately. Then reduce the heat and cook well.
