MALAI KOFTA

MALAI KOFTA RECIPE- With the melted paneer, every bite gives a melt in mouth texture. These koftas can be had as such as a starter or served along with a cream based curry as an accompaniment.

Aloo Paneer Kofta

I referred this recipe from here. I added some ingredients to suit my taste. As I tasted in a restaurant, these koftas are supposed to be mildly spiced. So add very less chilli powder and garam masal powder
This post concentrates on Koftas and the curry recipe will be shared in a different post.

Potato Paneer Balls

Ingredients
Potato
4 medium Sized
Crumbled Paneer
1/2 cup
Chilli Powder
1/4 tsp
Garam Masala Powder
1/4 tsp
Maida
As required
Salt
To taste
Oil
As required

Method:
1.Boil potatoes.(Do not overcook. You should be able to mash)Peal the skin off and place the potatoes in fridge for atleast half an hour.
2.Bring paneer to room temperature and crumble it.
3.Mash the potatoes without any lumps.
4.Add the crumbled paneer, chillli powder, garam masala powder, salt and mix well.
5.Make equal sized balls.
6.Heat oil and deep fry the balls. If the balls break dust the remaining balls with maida or you can add a tbl spn of maida while kneading.
7.Serve hot with tomato sauce or serve along with cream based curry for rotis/chapathi.
8.Cook 'n' Enjoy

Tip:
1.Do not overcook potatoes. They may turn mushy and you may not be able to form balls.
2.Placing the cooked potatoes in fridge helps in forming balls
3.Maida binds the balls well.So you can add just a tblspn of maida to prevent the balls from breaking.
