WHOLE WHEAT BISCUITS

WHEAT BISCUITS RECIPE -I din't know that wheat biscuits would be sooooo delicious till I tried this recipe.I wanted to make a healthy biscuit without all purpose flour(Maida). Hereon these biscuits will be often made in my kitchen for one reason-this healthy snack with all the goodness of butter and wheat flour can be given to kids without any worries.

Whole Wheat Biscuits

I referred this wonderful recipe from here.
As I was preparing for a toddler I did not use almonds in the dough. But just used for garnish. There is no baking powder, baking soda and egg.So sure it is a healthy snack.

Biscuits for Toddlers

Ingredients
Wheat Flour
1 Cup
Powdered Sugar
1/2 Cup
Butter
1/2 Cup
Cardamom Powder
1/2 tsp
Salt
1/4 tsp
Milk
1 to 2 tbl spn
Almonds
As Required

Method:
1.In a wide bowl,take wheat flour,sugar,salt,cardamom powder mix well.
2.Add the softened butter and make a soft dough.
3.If the dough is too dry add just 1 tblspn of milk.Knead well.
4.Preheat oven to 350 F.
5.Make 24 equal sized balls out of the dough.(24 balls gives the correct size of biscuits).
6.Press the balls slightly between your palms and press the halved almond on top.
7.Place the cookies in an ungreased cookie sheet with around 1 inch space between each cookie.
7.Bake in the preheated oven for 18 mins.Or bake until the cookies are browned from bottom.
8.Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and allow the cookies to rest in the sheet for to to three minutes.
9.Cool the cookies in a cooling rack for 15 mins.
10.Let the kids munch the healthy cookies.Of course the elders can relish with a cup of tea.
11.Cook 'n' Enjoy

Tip:
1.The original recipe calls for adding 1/3 cup of chopped almonds while kneading the dough. As I was giving it to a toddler I did not add any almonds in the dough. Also I did some with almonds garnish and some without almonds garnish.
2.Cardamom powder can be added as per the given measurement.Or you may get the butter smell. The cardamom smell is wonderful in the biscuits.
